projects knitted from free patterns from the internet. the yellow sweater is for my dear daughter jill, see the needles all over the place! i knitted it based on elizabeth zimmerman's percentage system. istarted it from the chest using temporary cast on then knitted the raglan shaping ( temporary cast on sleeves first)up to the proposed turtle neck.then body & sleeves are being knitted down, allowing multiple try ons by the recipient..whew!

the red pi r square shawl - an elizabeth zimmerman classic- is my attempt at lace. i followed the method of increasing, inserting lace patterns between the increases. iwill show a better picture once i block the shawl properly.

the wrist warmer . i was able to finish these in an evening. i used a merino & angora blend yarn i got from my lys called tangled skeins in md. i only used half of the ball. i cast on 38 sts ribbed 2x2 for about 12 rows then increased 12sts for thumb gusset placed on a length of yarn as stitc holder the knitted in stockinette fro an inch or so then more ribbing to wanted length cast off. ilike to cast on on both so that i can knit on both pieces alternately that way i always finsh a pair.

the hat is from a free pattern called inga hat. it uses a neat braid trim at the begining.
